Crikey Moses, I just sent my first bulk email comms to around 500 people telling them about the site. Only EVERYONE we have ever known with a working email address, so nothing to worry about then. What’s the worst that can happen? They think it’s naff, I suppose…. Result? EVERYONE we’ve ever known is laughing at us…..OMG is it too late to change my mind?!
Spent most of this week trying to get my primeval brain around the marvels of MailChimp. Chimp indeed. Monkeys pressing buttons seems an apt analogy at this point. Take this as a universal apology, friends, if you receive 37 identical emails from us – I’m still climbing the learning ladder…
Our first test ad has gone out and I am sitting watching the stats by the second. So sad.
In family matters, I have recorded a few events this week, one of which was George’s summer camp. Homesick – worst possible nightmare. Picture this – George a bit upset, so talk to me on the phone. Now a lot upset. Mummy also now upset…more upset than George. So upset in fact that Wednesday is a complete write-off as mummy has to stop for a cry every 15 minutes or so, and can’t be parted from her mobile phone. There is no hope. Anyway, turned out my brave soldier was actually better than me in the end – he marched on and made it to the end of the 3 day adventure. Returned home happy, if slightly ‘feral’ in nature, but in one beautiful piece.
One thing I will say is this – being my own boss meant that I could spend half term with my homesick puppy – as a full-time working mum for the past 10 years of his life, I’ve never before had the opportunity to truly be there for him at the drop of a hat. Magic.
Anyway, here’s to the success of my new business. Long may she keep me away from the infernal commute!
