I took my mother for granted, but it’s never too late to remember….
1. The way she wore her make-up. Just lipstick & mascara.
2. Short-hand typing. Marvellous swirly foreign shapes on the lined page.
3. Shoe shops. Our favourite game.
4. Laughing like drains until we lost control of our legs.
5. Her giant bras.
6. Rock cakes. She was always baking.
7. Freckles. Loads of ‘em on her long, safe arms.
If your mother is near, study her and take her all in. Save the memory for a day when you may need it.

Thats a lovely tribute to your mum.
Thank you so much! Boy do I miss her….
You’ve got me welling up here! Mums are the best. I miss mine so much. Lovely tribute.
Thanks so much for your response. If she’s still around, make the most of her…..x Helen
It truly is such a beautiful tribute to your Mother. She sounds and looks like such a lovely person Helen.
Thanks Gabby, she was. Feeling all emotional now, so thanks so much for your comment!
How lovely, funny and moving all at once. You are so right, we should memorise and store up as much as we can about our beloveds while we can.
Thanks for stopping by. It’s so easy to take a loved one for granted, just as our kids will do the same to us!
Thanks for linking up to raise awareness of Breakthrough and breast cancer.
Point very well made. The support is much appreciated
