Postcards. What if you could design your own?
An image to represent your family holidays, memories, a time that you can only live once, but remember forever.
So how do you pick just ONE of your own photos which best represents your family holiday memories?
This is my choice. It was taken in 2011 on Broadhaven Beach in Wales. Yes, Wales. I am a little reluctant to share it with you in case you all turn up on my favourite beach next summer, but since I was told it’s rude not to share, I’d better cough up.
I chose it for the following reasons:-
1. It is one of the rare shots of our 3 boys all together, having a ball.
2. Wales is the place where I spent pretty much all of my childhood holidays, and consequently holds special memories for me, and latterly for us.
3. It represents that thing which we all need more of – time together as a family, just ‘being’.
I really hope you like it.
If you had to pick just ONE photo for your family postcard, what would it be?
Thanks to Tara at Sticky Fingers who laid down the gauntlet for us to find an image to represent a ‘picture postcard’.
That is a lovely [picture and would make a great card. I love the colour of the sand.
Thank you!! It’s by far our favourite place (and usually quite deserted which is even better!)
Broadhaven … The beach of my childhood. Climbing those steps after a long day! Walking through to the ponds. Rock climbing at the tide out. What memories. What a lovely photo.
Yay!!!!! It’s the best beach in the world, (maybe) and it’s become our special family place. So glad you know it so well.
What a gorgeous and fun picture. x
Thanks Susan!!
I am a huge fan of Wales – this beach looks fantastic.
SSsshhh, don’t tell anyone!!!!
Lovely shot,perfect for a postcard
Thanks Claire
That sand looks so beautifully glossy.
It truly is a magnificent beach. National Trust, so well off the beaten track and well looked after. Massive dunes and awesome surf. Takes a good beach to entertain 3 lads between the ages of 17 and 4!!
Stunning beach and lovely photo
It’s a doozey, indeed (the beach). Thanks for stopping by!
Great photo, lovely beach – promise not to turn up though!
I love how they are all going in different directions. It looks like it should be on a clothing catalogue website, where you can zoom in on each person to see the clothes!
Probably a good job it’s not, since the wee one isn’t wearing his pants!!!
Great photo. Our postcard would be our kids on a be ch across the Atlantic in Amagansett. Nice post.
I’d love to see Amagansett some time!!!!
Gorgeous photo. I love the effect the water makes on the sand, and the fact that all three boys are doing something different and not posing.
We spend most of our holidays in Wales and I have so many gorgeous shots there! That is a really gorgeous photo!
It’s such a fabulous place, Pembrokeshire especially
I have never visited a Welsh beach yet but that one does look lovely. It’s a fab family scene, I like how your family are arranged in it, dad and youngest looking at each other in the background, with your eldest walking towards you in the foreground. It’s a great postcard pic x
Thanks so much. BTW, ‘dad’ is actually our eldest son!!!
Such a lovely, natural photo – they’re often the best ones!
Thanks for coming over to comment!
A lovely natural picture. I haven’t been to the Welsh coast yet, just hill walking. Makes me want to go!
You really must go, it’s so beautiful in Pembrokeshire!
Pembrokeshire is beautiful. There is a VERY long coastal path which you can walk for days! You must check it out one year. I promise you won’t regret it!
THAT is one stunning photo, I love the colours too, I’ve been to Wales twice north and south and can’t wait to go back. So going to crash your beach now
How very dare you!!! It is a truly amazing beach, so I’ll let you borrow it!
