…..learned to ride our bicycle, without the aid of stabilisers, mummy’s hands, or a safety net
…..waved to the Olympic torch
…..discovered the joy of Hamleys toy shop
…..lost our first two wobbly teeth (on the beach)
…..found joy in the smallest things
…..made laughter the memory of the season.
This has been our Summer, 2012.

And THESE were the Summers when we……..
……hit the rock pools, then hit them again (1971)
……jumped every sand dune we could find (1970)
……still had two Nans to cuddle after a long day (1974)
……still played as brother and sister, willing the days not to end (1976)
THOSE were the Summers from our own childhood.
