This post is part of a weekly series of ‘link-up’ Posts which reflect on life’s journey, old memories and family stories (see below for more info).
Oh God. You know the one. That picture that your parents always had on the mantelpiece, directly above the electric 3-bar fire.
The one which taunted you for all those years.
Yep, this was mine.
The photo that your elderly aunt loved, but that you vowed to turn to ash before you ever brought a boyfriend home to be inspected by your dad.
We all had one. Goofy teeth or wonky fringe, puppy fat or fashion fail of epic proportions. Maybe you were just with Mickey Mouse – sometimes it can all get a bit too much for public display when you’re 14.
For me, it was pimples. And my boyfriend’s ’gold’ chain gift which seemed to leave grey marks on my neck when I wore it. Scumbag.
Go on, fetch it out and share it with us now.
Love it for all its gut-wrenching awfulness, and celebrate the passing of time, and the making of ‘You’.
Share your memories with us in this week’s Link Up – either write a blog post and link it up (the Linky will stay open for some time yet, so no need to rush), or just share your memories with us in the comments if you prefer – you don’t have to have a Blog to play! Everyone welcome here. Consider it therapy. But do tell your friends!

I have to say that you look rather ‘Diana’rish’ in that photo – its the haor and eyes that does it – you have stunning eyes by the way!
).
I was modelling myself on Diana back then. More pimples, less glamour sadly!!!!
I meant the hair!
LOL. How embarrassing that I just admitted I used to want to be Diana! Saddo. I’m over it by the way…..

Helen Spencer of Save Every Step launched a great series entitled, “Life’s a Journey,” earlier this year that you should check out. Save Every Step is a memory storage Web site that organizes your images and experiences in an online timeline in chronological order. Here is her latest post in the “Journey” series.
